This series draws its inspiration primarily from Snæfellsjökull (Snæfells glacier). This series captures the vibracy of red colors cast upon the glacier when the sun is at its lowest point on the horizon above Snæfellsnes glacier.
Dimensions: 12x18cm and 20x20cm
Below you will find the selection titled "Keilir". The mountain was formed during the Ice Age, underneath a glacier and is classed as a hyaloclastite mountain, although scientists believe it to actually be the plug of a large crater. Hikers enjoy climbing the mountain as it's not too high, but still poses enough of a challenge. Once you climb to the top, which takes around 2-3 hours, you are rewarded with a beautiful 360-degree view that simply takes your breath away. Keilir is close to my home town Keflavik.
Grundarfjörður's beautiful landmark is the most photographed mountain in Iceland. Its isolated position jutting out into the sea makes it a focal point for tourists and seamen alike. Surrounded by beaches, Kirkjufell has a lovely walking trail around it as well as a more challenging climb up to the top where bird and fish fossils can be found (guide is recommended).
